And, of course, shopping local is just more fun! You’re more likely to find unique and interesting products that you won’t find in big chain stores. You’ll also get to meet the people who make and sell the products you buy, which can make for a much more personalised and enjoyable shopping experience.

Our town is home to a diverse range of excellent local businesses, shops and services – independent companies owned by people who live here, who hire local people and invest in local projects. By shopping locally, rather than travelling out of town or buying online, you’re helping to create a thriving, vibrant community where everyone can prosper.

Better for our environment

Not only does shopping in Leiston help our community thrive economically, by staying local you’re helping the environment. Shopping closer to home means less travelling so you’re reducing your carbon footprint.

BETTER FOR
 YOUR POCKET

Cutting down the mileage also cuts down your cost at the petrol pump. That’s if you need to drive at all – walking or biking to the High Street is a great way to reduce your carbon footprint and improve your health at the same time.
