Alde Valley Academy in Leiston has won the title of Suffolk’s Greenest School.
The prize was awarded at the Suffolk Greenest County Awards on Friday the 12th of November, just as the COP26 climate conference in Glasgow was drawing to a close.
The school has gained their impressive reputation through the encouragement of teachers and students to take action towards reaching Net Zero.
Headmaster Dan Mayhew ‘credited their “three-pronged attack” of pushing kids to take action at home and in school, their school project that created green guardians and the school’s own boiler upgrades for their success.’ He also added that ‘”It’s not a case of changing your whole life. It’s the little things that can make a big difference.”’
